“I see autism as an ability to have a different view on things” – Ellie Powell

Autism Plan I see autism as an ability to have a different view on things

“Some people who are new to the world of autism might see autism as a disability. I don’t see it as a disability at all! I see it as an ability to, may be, have a different view on things to people who don’t have autism; or to notice details in drawings or movies, or anything like that.

Autism let’s me focus on things. That’s maybe how you can tell that I’m autistic. I’ll focus myself on something and persevere until I can do that thing.  I’m not saying that if you have autism this is always going to be the case. Everyone wants to give up sometimes. But keep going!

There is nothing bad about autism. I’m different. I’m unique, and I’m ME! Be proud to be YOU!

It just needs to be a world where everyone can accept everyone.
There is nothing wrong with being different to anybody else.”
